Veterinary Services for Puppies & Kitties

Thank you for choosing Victoria Park Animal Hospital to help protect and care for your new addition to the family. The first few months are a critical period in a puppy or kitten’s development, and our wellness program is designed to set young pets on the right path toward a long and healthy life.

During puppy and kitten visits, our Fort Lauderdale veterinary team can provide information and advice on nutrition, training, litterbox habits, behavior, and socialization. We also help families understand what vaccines, diagnostics, and parasite prevention are recommended as their new pet grows.

Why early vaccines matter

Until puppies and kittens complete their full vaccine series, they remain vulnerable to serious but preventable diseases. We help protect new pets against rabies, distemper, parvovirus, panleukopenia, and other diseases based on age, lifestyle, exposure risk, and veterinary recommendations.

Parasite testing and treatment

Puppies and kittens commonly carry intestinal parasites such as roundworms, sometimes without obvious symptoms. Parasites can cause vomiting, diarrhea, and other gastrointestinal signs, and some are zoonotic, meaning they can be transmitted from pets to people. Testing and treatment help protect your pet and your household.

Puppy Wellness Exam & Vaccines

Your puppy will be scheduled for vaccine boosters given about three weeks apart to build protection safely. Completing the puppy booster series is an important milestone. With vaccines completed, diagnostics checked, and any needed medications addressed, your puppy graduates into the next stage of care. The next major visit may often be their spay or neuter consultation or procedure.

Kitty Wellness Exam & Vaccines

Kitten wellness visits help protect your cat during a fast-changing early life stage. Our team will make sure your kitten is protected against rabies and panleukopenia, also known as feline distemper. Depending on your kitten’s risk, we may also recommend vaccines or testing related to feline leukemia virus (FeLV), feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV), and other concerns.

We celebrate families who return every three weeks for boosters and recommended care. Once the kitten vaccine series is complete, your kitten becomes an official graduate and moves into the next chapter of growing into a confident, healthy adult cat.
